DELIVERY DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC UPDATE:
Depending on your location in the County, we are currently delivering either a box of shelf staple items or frozen meals - enough for 5 meals - once per week. A Meals on Wheels representative will call you after you apply to let you know which type of meal you will receive. The box of shelf staple items is delivered every Tuesday morning and you must be home on Tuesday to accept your delivery. If you receive frozen meals you will be told which day the delivery is coming.
We will continue with this delivery until we can safely return to a 5 day a week delivery of daily prepared, hot meals. We do not yet know when that will be.
How do I refer myself or a prospective client to Meals on Wheels?
You, a family member or caregiver, must call 919-833-1749 to begin your application process by phone. Applications are taken over the phone Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Or you can apply on-line using the link below.
How long is the applications process?
Typically the application process takes 2 to 3 weeks. Several factors, such as where you live in Wake County, the current waiting list, and the availability of routes and volunteers, need to be taken into account on a case by case basis.
