Memorial/Honorary Giving

Memorial/Honorary Giving provides you, the donor, with the opportunity to remember special individuals with a memorial or honorary gift. Gifts may be made “In Memory of” an individual to commemorate a loved one’s life, or “In Honor of” an individual who is special in your life. Gifts may also be made in honor of special occasions, such as birthdays and anniversaries.

At your request, Meals-on-Wheels will send a card to the individual whom you designate to notify them of your gift. The amount will not be disclosed.

Many companies have a Corporate Matching Gift program and will match your monetary and/or volunteer contribution with a corporate gift. Check with your employer to find out if they offer this great way to increase the value of your giving. Our organization is one of the many that benefits from your participation in the United Way or Combined Federal Campaign held in your workplace.

Emergency Meals for Clients

During bad weather, when our volunteers are unable to deliver, shelf-stable and prepackaged items are a great solution.  These meals require no cooking or refrigeration and can be consumed at room temperature.  Items can be placed in a gallon zip lock bag. Examples include: tuna, crackers, apple sauce, water, raisins, peanut butter crackers & granola bars. You can compile these or similar items into bags and deliver them to us.  We will bring them to our clients who can have them on hand during a bad weather emergency.

Wish List For Congregate Dining Rooms
Participants at our congregate dining rooms often need assistance with some basic household necessities. These items can be dropped off at our office at 1001 Blair Drive in Raleigh.
We request that these items be new: socks for men, canned food, trash bags, toilet tissue, denture cream, toothpaste, dish detergent, toothbrushes, lotion, yarn, paper towels.
We can also use NEW or REFURBISHED laptop computers for use at our 8 congregate dining rooms.
